Taylor Swift and Apple
I notice that Taylor Swift has used her clout by threatening to withhold her album from Apple's streaming service to make them change their policy of not paying artists during a 3 month initial 'trial period' ( ie money making stealing period).
This obviously affects artists much poorer and smaller than her so good on her.

Questions .... Where were all the other major artists making a stand rather than cowering to Apple?
Why do Apple think it's acceptable not to pay artists for using their work for 3 months and why are they are allowed to back down without being pilloried as thieving cunts?

Not a fan of Taylor Swift's music but I like her. She - or/and her management - have strength. Take no shit.

Essentially, the majors get an advance from Apple. The majors wont pay this to their artists. The Artists frequently have little say. The independents were fighting this.
To be honest I'm happy for every penny I make and am happy she's done this as I'll make a bit more. Not much. A few pounds.

Bit worrying you all think this is serious and she's standing up for people. Most obvious bit of self marketing to get extra money from album for her stuff

Apple were tranferring the financial risk of launching their streaming service from themselves to the artists.
Given the enormous cash pile Apple have this was piss taking of the first order. The fact that Apple even considered this says a lot.

Interesting riposte to her in the paper this morning from a photographer who points out the hypocracy of how she treats photographers in relation to how she feels Apple are treating her.

Re: Taylor Swift and Apple
So, basically, she's either a bit of a two faced cunt, or she doesn't actually know what's being put into the contracts in her name?

She seems to have good business accumen, so I suspect it's a bit more of the former

Re: Taylor Swift and Apple
Yeah because she did it all out of the goodness of her heart to help smaller poorer artists.

Sycophantic cunt.

There was an agenda here. Like there is with everything she does.

Bet her old girl doesn't even have cancer.

Yes. I can't fucking stand her. Sue me.

Absolute pair of pins. Awful music.

This whole thing isn't really a shock. Apple do something, one of the biggest acts of the moment condems it. Apple then changes it.

Basically, she holds more sway than they do. Otherwise Apple would have told her to do one. They need her more than she needs them.

I like her.
I like her music.

In fact i am going Hyde Park to see her.

Life is too short to try and pretend to be cool all the time.

I'd let her fart in my mouth. If there was some follow-through then so be it.

Re: Taylor Swift and Apple
I've never even heard her music as far as I know.

All I know about her is that she's in the paper every fucking day, like that fucking eyebrow woman and Miley fucking Cyrus.
